I don't typically associate the month of April with freezing temperatures.
And it's really strange to walk out of class into fifty-five degree weather and marvel at how warm it is.

My advisor sent out an email today about the Women's Studies Writing Contest, requesting submissions. She concluded it with the following statement:

So far:

-West Virginia, and more snow than I've seen my entire life.

-More or less forced off the road by the snow.

-Hot food and comfortable beds = floating.

-Sleep tonight. We have to check out by eleven, and should roll into Selinsgrove late tomorrow afternoon.

tonight- packing, cleaning, unexpected Incident Report documentation (I almost made it through tonight with no write ups. crap.)

tomorrow afternoon- first leg of the drive to Pennsylvania.

Good stuff.

But training's over, the residents are moving back in, and there's comfort in the impending routine.

I've been accepted to the national undergrad literature conference at Susquehanna!

It means I'll have to go to Pennsylvania in February, but that's totally okay. With any luck, this should considerably augment my status as a candidate for grad school.

...So yeah. I can finally accept that maybe I'm a decent writer.

I can't tell you how good it feels to be done with my obligations for a couple of days. I've got some projects due Tuesday, but they can wait. For the meantime, I'm going to kick back and do... well... NOTHING.

I submitted a piece for consideration at a national writing conference. I can't tell you how nervous this makes me.

In other news, I don't get to sleep until sometime tomorrow night.
