on the way down yesterday, there was an interesting program on a violinist who did a pilgrimage to santiago with his violin. very interesting and likey to interest a few on my flist. can't remember too many details, but it would have been between noon and 3pm.

I've heard some of that music... really haunting and lovely.

There was a followup program on him on CBC radio; he's currently battling cancer, but sounds very upbeat and positive.

they played some of it. very nice. it was CBC radio that i was listening to, something traditional in listening to that while driving down to 'The County'. perhaps we are talking about the same program, i wasn't listening to it with attentively i must confess.

It definitely wasn't the same program (haven't been listening to the radio for a couple days) but I'd stake large amounts of money that it's the same musician. :-)

probably. it was interesting to hear the discussion on how the church echoes made for a duet with his playing of his violin. and the concept of it being a reliquary of sorts. the whole religion is what resonates within you struck a chord in me if you will pardon the puns.
