I’m feeling very torn at uni between doing modules that I know I can get really good grades in if I put in enough effort, but won’t teach or inspire me much, or modules that will really challenge me and teach me new skills, but I’m only likely to get an average grade in ( Read more... )

I'm afraid I don't have an answer to your question, but I was also thinking today or yesterday that being good at writing essays isn't such a great skill outside of school/university, unless you're good enough to make a living as a writer. Although at least it helps me blog!

I suppose it would come in handy for anything that required the presentation of arguments in writing. Speech writing, funding proposals for charities etc. I’m not sure what else!

Unless you want to go into a scheme especially for graduates, your degree class isn't that important, and after a couple of years no one will care anyway. I know several people who got 2:2 or a third and probably have better jobs than I do with my 2:1.
