Who knows? Maybe they just gave us different temporary bodies when we came into this place. Without a soul, those bodies are just left as containers, right..? They're just returning our souls to where they belong.

That could explain some aspects of this place... One of my professors at school put an angel's soul into a created body, so it's certainly not impossible. I wonder how long it'll take the created bodies to fall apart, now that they have no souls in them?
