Is tape band-aids for paper, or are band-aids tape for people?

Tape is band-aids for paper. The point of a band-aid is to hold a wound shut... when paper is ripped, it is "wounded", so you could say that you use tape as a band-aid for it. However, the difference between paper and people is that paper does not heal itself, whereas people do. While people can eventually take the band-aid/tape off because they don't need it anymore, paper can never "heal" and therefore must keep the tape/band-aid on forever. Therefore, band-aids are not tape for people because they don't need to keep said tape on forever.
