I know. Now Bush has a majority in the Senate this will be the first of many changes that may not bode too well for the rest of the world. :( I wish Russia would hurry up and switch trading its oil into euros.

Funnily enough I was having a chat with the german & hungarian housemates last night about why we're not in the euro, & what, if anything, might get us into it. I suggested that this would be the one thing that could do it...

We'd certainly be extremely foolish to not join the euro if that happened. To be honest it probably isn't a bad thing anyhow. We are all just a little too proud of our pounds. Now the Euro has stabilised and is indeed growing in strength it probably makes sense to look at joining again
