Placement Test Question?

I'm starting as a Freshman at UW this fall and I took AP tests in both Math and Spanish during my senior year of high school, and apparently I did well enough in both of them that I don't need to take placement tests, because on my unofficial transcript it shows that I should take Spanish level 3 and Math level 5... now my question is, what does ( Read more... )

thanks, I've checked that but I don't have my AP scores yet; just what UW translated them into on the transcript :/

You used to be able to see your AP scores on your UW transcript before you get them in the mail, actually. I was able to when I was an incoming freshman a few years ago. I wish I could remember how! You might have some credits posted to your transcript based on your AP scores, but they can be slow about that.

Well Spanish 3 would mean you take Spanish 103 (or that might be 123 now, I forget what they changed it to).. It basically means you get to skip taking 101 and 102, which in turn makes it so you get to take more classes of your choice.

Math I have no clue on because I wasn't required to take any math classes at UW.

I'm a little late to this post, but my transcript says Japanese Level 4, and Mathematics level 4. Because I took 4 years of them in high school, I assumed that this is what level 4 meant lol. I didn't take any AP classes in these subjects.

Anyway, I still had to take a test to place into a Japanese class at UW.
