So I have a lot of time on my hands, figured I'd add some more stuff to my 'to read' list. I'm dependent on Seattle Public Library system for books, no longer with the UW. What is it in particular that you are interested in learning about or priming yourself for? Also what level are you interested in reading. Informative pleasure reading or scholarly texts?

You might try The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism by Max Weber (economics). If you are looking to read some texts that look a lot of the things you're bringing up You might be interested in reading some sociology texts. Peter Berger and Emile Durkheim come to mind.

oooo Durkheim rings a bell.

Both informative pleasure and scholarly texts. My background is Anthropology, and I'm kind of a non-fic buff. I never took any straight up PHIL courses though. When it comes to the dense stuff, like Foucault maybe I'll read a Foucault reader, or essays on Foucault before reading Power Knowledge or something like that.
