Breed restrictions will most likely be on larger dogs, or breeds that are considered for whatever reason more dangerous.

The only apartment I know of offhand is on the 49 busline maybe four blocks north of Broadway, on 10th. I think it is called the Volunteer Park apartments, but in any case it's a large brick apartment building, with a walkup entrance. It looks somewhat rundown.

I'm not sure about where you could find apartments, but generally breed restrictions refers to either vicious dog breeds (pit bulls, rottweilers, doberman pinchers, etc) or very large dogs (sometimes they have restrictions of over a certain weight - often about 40 lbs)

buses in seattle area are really easy to come by so it's not that hard to find a place within walking distance of a bus line

from what I've seen usually if an apartment is really pet friendly, they'll advertise it. If you can you can look it up on google maps or see if the building has a website to see what the layout is like, that'll impact how troublesome dogs would be/how likely you would be to get in trouble if they bark - or if your fiancee is in the area he could go and check out the building to see what kinds of areas they offer for pet/if any pets are around

do they bark when they're home alone where you are now?

they don't usually bark when they are home alone, they will cry a lil when i first leave. the thing is I am living at home... a very large house and someone is usually at home with them. people are always coming and going and they have a big yard to play in.. but i can't leave them here. I just worry that they will whine and bark a lot when people are walking by the door because they do tend to bark when I first walk up to the house and am opening the door.

To echo everyone else, if there is a breed restriction it is usually "aggressive" dogs (like pitbulls, etc) or sometimes they do weight restrictions (like under 25 lbs).

It seems that the apartments more on the expensive side of spectrum are almost always pretty pet friendly. Although, if you can rent a house...totally do it. I also agree with Wallingford as being really nice, I've also seen some really cute places in Ravenna (which is right next to UW!).

I was going to suggest Wallingford. We just moved from there after living in a super dog-friendly apartment. It was such a wonderful place to live and it was a block away from the 31 bus, which took all of 10 minutes to get to campus. We bought our first house and would've loved to stay in the neighborhood but houses are crazy expensive in Seattle. We never had any issues with mugging, robbery, etc. in that area, either. Too bad you weren't looking in June, we had a 2 bedroom apartment in a prime location for 975, and our landlady never raised the price on us after 2 years of living there.

what apartment is this? I'm looking to move to a dog-friendly place after my lease is over. And Wallingford is awesome!
