Book Buyback!

Mar 15, 2011 16:44

It's that time of year, I was wondering if it was really worth it to sell to the UW bookstore though? How much do they usually give back for books? (I have an originally $90 chem 142 textbook and a ~$100 spanish textbook) not that it really matters I guess since anything is better than having them take up room and be useless :/

After four years I've decided that it's almost never worth it to sell back to the UBookstore. If you have time and don't mind lugging the books around a bit you can go and see what they'll buy them for, and also try at the book kennel (You're free to say "no thanks" and walk away after they quote you a price). What IS worth it is selling them directly to another UW student through uloop.com. This is how I've sold all of my books for the last three years - you get more money than if you sold it to the bookstore (I wouldn't sell those books for less than $40 for the chem book and $50 for the spanish book), and whoever's buying it gets a hell of a deal too. See what the cheapest price someone can buy them online (used) for, and then use that as your selling price and do the exchange somewhere on the UW campus for cash. The more people use Uloop, the more often you can sell and buy stuff you need, so tell your friends! (I don't work for uloop or anything, I just wanna be able to sell my stuff when I know people out there need it!)
