Yikes! That happened to me, too. Same thing. It was a harsh kick in the face.

When? I'm somewhat surprised that, if it's been a longstanding problem, nobody's mentioned it or done anything about it.

Hmm... Winter 2009, I think. I talked my face off to the insurance people and eventually got myself covered. They also failed to let me know when my insurance was TERMINATED because I dropped a course, or something. Ridiculous.

So what I'm seeing here is that I'm not so much of an edge case after all. I wonder how many other people have been similarly screwed?

I think you're an edge case. Of 20000 full time students, in a potential sampling of the 743 members of this community (~4%) there are two people here and one hearsay report on your blog who got similarly screwed.

Then, for that very small group of people who are getting screwed, you need someone with the time an energy to do something about it. When you're facing off against FedS and Sun Life, that's a lot of time and energy. Your only hope is to get people on side who are worried that it could happen to them, and with such low utilization of the program, good luck.

Not only is it a news story, it should be an election issue.

Don't worry, plenty of Imprint people read my blog.

Making it an election issue is waiting too long to fix the problem.
