Maybe - maybe it was just this time? Because it was an out-of-order event? Most people I know of who went home went back to the point they came from...
Ah. I believe we have a misunderstanding. It was not I who went home, but my wife. She apparently did return to the point at which she left. She remained at home for nearly twenty years, even though only a few days had passed here. It was she who informed me of our son's death.
It did not occur to me to ask if I was present at the funeral. I wonder if I will indeed be there, or if my presence in the City will prevent me. Is such a thing possible? Can the City prevent us from living out our lives as originally intended?
I was? Presumably that means I will indeed be able to go home at some point. Thank you, Sisi. Knowing that settles my mind a little. I did not like the idea that I would miss my son's funeral.
Oh, now I see! That sounds more like what I've heard. Still... that is a long time to be home, and a long span of time to separate you...
Hm, frankly, I don't know if it can! All the evidence I've heard of so far is that it generally doesn't, but, well... hard to figure out how that would even work.
That's unusual.
