Well. The annoying raincloud seems to have vanished for good. I thought it might have gone yesterday, only to have it reappear late in the afternoon, when I could not find my pen and ink pot. So far today, however, it has not returned. I presume this means that whatever curse was thrust upon me has ended

The holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus, an important figure in my home country's religion. There is a Saint who is also celebrated during this time, Saint Nicholas. I have never heard of anyone matching your description.
