Hugs. Don't worry about the future or rejection because you can't predict any of that. Just write your story first and get it the best it can be. Focus on that and let all that other stuff go. You can do this.
And you know, there is a Dutch author who writes in English and got published in America first instead of here. So that is always an option/possibility too ❤️
You should definitely finish your story. Write for at least an hour a day (that's what I try to do and so far so good). When you are finished you will feel such a sense of accomplishment. After that the critiques you get can only help you as a writer. You can always go back and make changes. If people only say good things about your writing you can never improve.
Thanks! I just started doing exactly that about a week ago. :) Dedicate at least an hour (whenever possible, since sometimes work gets in the way). And I've got a public blog now to publish my stories, and let people give me feedback. I do realize I need any kind of feedback, good and bad to keep moving forwards.
