I've taken this from laralbagoury. I thought it would be fun to answer.

(IF YOU CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS)

How do you plan to celebrate this year?
We always celebrate as a family. This year we will have a Christmas lunch with my grandmother (from my dad's side of the family), and then we will probably go have dinner with my mom's side of the family. With my ( Read more... )

I've never heard of posada before. Great to read about your traditions. Here it isn't too special. We usually exchange gifts on Christmas Eve (except this year as we'll be in the car) and eat gourmet. We'll be at my parents on first Christmas Day, then leave second Christmas Day to return home and go to the inlaws for dinner.

I'm pretty sure it's a very local tradition, so not many people have heard of it. I hope you had fun during Christmas. Your boy is growing up so fast. :)

This is my first time hearing about posada. Very interesting. I would love to try that tuna pie haha.

For some reason I knew posada beforehand o.O The idea of making your own Christmas food is quite nice :)

In finland we have these special Christmas (lacking a better word) casseroles, that I haven't met outside the nordic countries. Christmas dinner also includes a ham, like literally half the butt of a pig with the bone still attached. When my mom was little, her family always saved one piglet of the summer's litter for themselves, and it was the kids' job to take care of it until it became the Christmas ham. She's still not fond of the ham ^^''

It's also the darkest time of the year here (sun sets at 14.45), so we stay indoors as much as possible and have lots of candles and chocolate :)

I think you're the first person that tells me they've heard of posadas before. That's awesome.

Oh wow... I think I wouldn't be too fond of the ham if I had to take care of the little piglet and then kill it for Christmas dinner.
