America Can't Say No

Twenty miles outside Orlando because the rental people lied about the location of the villa until we'd paid a deposit. I'm in the great American suburbs, where there is nothing to do for miles around - rows and rows of identical houses. No parks, no shops, no bars ( Read more... )

You're having the same problems I did last time I was there - you're going to have tolearn to drive! Or get one of those trike thingys Samoth has, they get you places pretty fast.

There's actually quite a few north american recumbent riders (and cyclists too), apparently it is actually possible, you just need the right attitude :)

Walking marks you out as a poor person apparently :)

I figured it was implied I only hang/hung out with beautiful people ;)

And I agree with Jon, anything less than four wheels is suicidal on the roads here. There's a ridiculous number of huge SUVs with one suburban idiot behind the wheel, some of them have 8 tyres!

Hey :) That would be awesome, I've found Independent Bar and another place nearby I liked (up some stairs, has chairs like high-heeled shoes/rolling stones lips) but would appreciate some pointers. Will swap lists of cool places in Orlando for cool places in Manchester :)

Are there lots of dissatisfied, bored people here looking for something to do? Perhaps something could be started...

MSN is on my profile, or email me on gp at caffeine org uk. E-mail's better as I'm stealing this Internet connection from some guy down the street who keeps turning it off >:(
