Within the past month, whenever I take a shower I get a damn nosebleed, and I don't know why exactly. My sister said it's because I have a deviated septum, but I don't think that's it because I haven't been hit in the nose recently. I'm figuring there must be a cut up there, or an overly sensitive tissue area perhaps. All I know is that at this ( Read more... )

EW!

Well wanna-be Doctor Mary will answer your call.

1) Have u checked with your MD regarding side-effects of medication you are on? I use to take Flonase for my allergies then stopped because of all the nose bleeds.

2) Your nose just may be too dry. If you have the heater on in your room your membranes may be too dry and crack then in the shower when the steam hits it, it breaks away the clot that forms and out you bleed.

3) Are you sticking anything up your nose? freak! :)

4) You could have high blood pressure but at your age, I doubt it!

Owell, check it out with an MD if it's that bad. They can give you epenephrine soaked pads to stop the bleeding.

i take a medication that causes thinning of the blood, and because i took accutane a long time ago, my body has been really dried out ever since. maybe it could also be that the weather is also rather cold and dry, and then i get into the shower and it's moist and steamy. those are a few logical possibilities i was thinking about before I posted this, but I wasn't quite sure. thanks for the help, wannabe doctor mary. lol
