Brilliant post, yo. Exactly, I believe, the mindset I'm falling into. (based on how you've been taking my posts, you probably think I'm a hypocrit for saying that :) )
Speaking of hope .. I'm going to be enormously glass-half-full and wonder if four more years of Bush is exactly what this country needs to be ready to truly move forward. Bush is inheriting his own wars and his own economic problems; they're his to own now. If Kerry had won and failed with those enormous issues, who knows how Right this country would push.
As it is, I feel like Bush's ineptitude is going to make a lot of those people who voted for him more open to reason, information, and change. As it is, with a weak Democratic candidate, a war-time tax-cutting President with a government and, arguably, media heavily slanting toward his side, Bush won with one of the smallest incumbent margins ever.
I think there's an awesome long-run opportunity here. Makes you wish you had a few billion to give to Nader, doesn't it? :/
