04. Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no particular order):
1. FictionJunction YUUKA - Akatsuki no Kuruma (Gundam SEED's Cagalli image song)
This song is purdy, period. The (Spanish?) guitar in the background is very cool, and the rhythm, melody, the beat, everything is very catchy. Oh, and its written by Yuki Kajiura, one of the best songwriters of all time, at least in my opinion XP She does such an awesome job of incorporating symbolism and meaning into her lyrics. Her lyrics really portray Cagalli's thoughts and feelings about her father's death well, IMO.
2. Stain'd - Epiphany
This song is hauntingly beautiful. Yes, I sound corny, but its the truth. Its really, really pretty and very, very angsty. Makes me think of Sasuke <3 I can't say much about this song. Just..you gotta listen to it =)
3. Nami Tamaki - Reason
Eh, well, the song's typical jpop I guess, but its really, really nice anyway. And one of the messages of the song, or at least what I *think* what one of them is (beware my corny interpretations XD) is that no matter how difficult life becomes, you can persevere through it because you always have people with you, whether they are physically beside you or in your heart. And for those people, with those people, you can go striving to live your life towards the fullest. *is cheesy* ^^
4. Christina Aguilera - Reflection
Just for the record, I do not like Christina Aguilera. When I was 10 or 12, but not now. However, this song is from MULAN damnit, and that movie fricking ROCKED XDDDD. Its been my favorite song since childhood, so its special to me. The lyrics aren't anything too deep, but nevertheless the words to the song are pretty and manage to convey some sense of insecurity I can identify with.
5. Asian Kung-Fu Generation - RIRAITO
This song. is. the. bomb. <333 Its my favorite song of all time, and I consider it to be my image song. I can really relate with the lyrics, and, well, its got some kick-ass guitar playing in it. Asian Kung-Fu Generation are cool XD
brief GSD Phase 30 thoughts
AA scene - Okies, maybe I'm just being stupid, but I found this scene very amusing. Even the fact that Cagalli - my favorite anime character of this series and of all time - was crying and breaking down in this scene could not stop me from finding the humour in all this. Its not that funny, but I thought this scene was sort of overdone and melodramatic. I mean, the whole ORB fleet was breaking down in tears! O.o Okay, yes, my their beloved Cagalli-sama was crying, and they *would* be affected by it, but did all of them have to suddenly start crying like Britney Spears just took over the world? Although this whole scene with Amagi et al bowing down to Kira and Cagalli was quite cute <33
Athrun angsting scenes - XD If I didn't have some lingering resentment towards him, I'd think he was hot looking in some of those shots of him thinking deep thoughts and all that. It was nice to see him feeling remorse for the way he treated Cagalli, as made evident by the guilt written all over his face when he thought back on Kira's words. Although I'm kind of sick of watching him angst, to tell the truth. I mean, I feel sorry for him, and it does him good to angst, but he angsted in ep 26, 27, and now 30. Its getting boring >.> And aarghhhh I really want to know what Shinn and Athrun said. Athrun looked like he underwent some kind of weird epiphany after Shinn left. Hmmm.
Ah and for those few (or none) of you who haven't read these spoilers yet:
Phase 33: World Indicated - Dullindal makes an emergency broadcast to the entire world revealing LOGOS is behind the whole war. Meanwhile, Shinn stares at the lake condemning himself for not protecting Stellar. Not wanting anyone else to tamper with Stellar's body, Shinn alone sinks it in a lake. He condemns himself for his failure to protect Stellar. After the previous battle, Shinn burns with vengeance at Freedom.
Phase 34: "Nightmare" Minerva receives the order to suppress the Archangel. What is the true intention?
Hmmm. I wonder what's going to happen to Freedom. I also wonder what in the hell they're going to do with Sting. The poor guy is so underdeveloped its not funny. And poor Stellar ;___; So she really is gone? Damn. >.> I knew she was going to kick the bucket eventually, but I never thought she'd die this early in the series. I really liked her, too. And Cagalli is supposedly leaving the AA, which is a good thing I suppose but I'm gonna miss her. And besides Andy (wherever the heck he and Lacus are right now), I have no one to watch Destiny for now. Kira's cool, Rey's cute and mysterious, and Meyrin's sweet, but I don't really care for them. Meer's somewhat of an interesting character, but she's also annoying as hell and I don't feel like watching her. And even though Dullindal is fascinating, I find him fascinating in an irritating way that makes me want to shoot him. And he irks me with his gentlemanly air. I don't know why I feel this way, but..yeah. Sorry to any Gilly fans.
I would watch Destiny for Athrun, but the harem storyline they threw him in doesn't interest me. Its stupid and pointless IMO. I mean, whats so interesting about watching three girls salivate over a guy, who, well, doesn't really deserve his fanclub at the moment? But I *do* hope the harem storyline will finally advance so we can get over with it and not deal with his love crap anymore. And I'm looking forward to Shinn/Lunamaria actually. They don't seem to have a lot of chemistry (right now), but I like the potential and idea of this couple. I just hope against hope the writers have the talent to pull this off right.
Ah and a few more thoughts: When on earth is Murrue going to meet Neo? and Neo better not be Mwu, because, well, that would take away the potency of his sacrifice in SEED. And if Neo *is* Mwu, this show is going to become more of a soap opera than it already is -_- And what on earth is Rey's future Gundam going to be called? I know its Something-Providence, but does anyone know WHAT Providence? Nu-Providence? =/
Oohh and one last thing: does anyone know:
a) a Cagalli instrumental theme (any instrumental piece that reminds you of her)
b) a KiraCaga song
c) Phase 31 song
d) Phase 24 song
e) Phase 50 song,
