After a fierce fight, Shinn finally kills Freedom. Though he sinks under the waves, Kira is narrowly rescued by Cagalli.
Freedom is seriously damaged. Archangel also sustains considerable damage, making battle impossible and escape unavoidable.
On the other hand, though Shinn who defeated the powerful enemy basks in praise on Minerva, Athrun has a complicated heart. In him also saying the passion that can be thought strikes hard.
And, all over the world, in response to the speech of Dullindal, the time of proper LOGOS has begun to come.

Rumors for Ep 36-onward
In episode 36, it is said that Meer who eavesdrops on conversation between chairman and Rey seems to have been shocked. Meer may be the person who unexpectedly helps Athrun escape in episode 36. She may begin to have doubts in the chairman.
If so, this supports a rumor from Japan presented on the animeondvd forum last year that while Meer is subordinate to the chairman and takes orders from him, she is not wholly subservient to him, she has her own mind, and she goes her own way.
A rumor from Japan which was presented on the said forum last year, early in the course of Gundam SEED Destiny television series, had the first term as Athrun and Cagalli, the second term as Kira and Lacus, the third term as Sting, Stellar and Auel, and the fourth term as the tragic heroine. Early this year, someone posted on 2ch that the tragic heroine is Meer.
Thoughts: Its amazing how predictable GSD is, if this turns out to be true. Even though I've had my doubts, I've been suspecting for quite some time that they were going to make Meer into some tragic hero. I guess Meer really is a good person after all. I would've loved to hate her though >.> It would've been interesting if she was actually evil. And I hope Meyrin is still the one who helps Athrun, because she's the only new pink-haired girl I remotely like.
Also rumors and speculations have been whirling around for some time in Japan that Lacus presents Strike Freedom to Kira and Infinite Justice to Athrun.
Thoughts: Pretty much a given.
Overall thoughts on rumors: Don't really care about them, except the one about Kira not going MIA. If they're true (which they most likely are, since they come from ArseneLupin on animeondvd.com forums), it won't be surprising. The plot's really predictable. The way GSD has been built, its kinda obvious that Meer is oh so predictably going to fall in love with Athrun-baka, reform her ways, turn against Dullindal, and sacrifice herself for PLANT (and for Athrun's sake, I guess). It doesn't sound like a very original storyline, but then, GSD is not known to be original. The upcoming arc looks rather un-interesting.
And no rumors on the situation of Neo, now confirmed to be Mwu (ughh =__=), nor any on Cagalli. Looks like she won't be doing anything cool in the future beyond getting back control of her country. And (repeating stuff here I've said over and over before)
while that's nice and all that, it would be even nicer if she could do something so uber-cool I might be able to forgive the writers for messing with her characters for 30 episodes straight. I know Meer's supposed to be the heroine of this arc, but I just want Cagalli to get some time to really shine. Maybe she'll get to do something with the IWSP Pack in the future.
Oh and while we're at it...I hope Meyrin gets her time to shine too. It would be really sad if the only reason they made her character was to eventually kill her off. But I have an awful feeling they're going to make her go all tragic heroine on us too and have her die, thereby causing Luna to feel guilty and realize how much she loves her sister, etc.
Stupid, stupid GSD. Its such a predictable, stupid, crack show and I'm addicted to this crack =_=
