For the GSeed fans, here's a translation my father did of a Chinese translation of a recent interview Shindou-san and Kuwashima-san had with Animage, in which they review the SEED boys ^_^

Note: I've omitted some stuff, and the translation's rather rough, and I'm not sure if everything's 100% accurate, but I think I've got the basic gist of the stuff they say ^^;; I think.

The people that changed and the people that did not change
Knowing that you still play Cagalli in DESTINY, how do you feel about this?
Shindou: I am very glad, because Cagalli is the first lead character I've voice acted. I have strong feelings towards her. However, now that she is two years older, I feel strange. For me, 18 years is a sensitive age to voice act, and I wanted to make her voice seem more grown up, but the result was no change.
In opposition, you [Kuwashima] have gone through a lot of changes.
Kuwashima: Yes. [She has played Fllay Allster and Natarle Badgiruel in SEED, and Stellar Loussier in SEED DESTINY] Stellar, you cannot describe her in one word. She has two completely different sides. Unlike other people, who have a consistent temperament, how she feels and acts is dependent on the way people treat her that day.
*Laugh*
Kuwashima: For Stellar, being treated as some kind of weapon in war; its like playing a role in a movie. Because she was raised in an institution and grew up as a Phantom Pain member. I think everyone understands that she's not an ordinary girl. A regular child has a mind of his own. Stellar, though; her brain is controlled. She cannot fight as, or even live like a normal human being. In this way, you could say she's a victim, so everybody thinks Stellar is a lovely person. Such as Shinn. And I am glad for Stellar that he was able to develop a bond with her, despite their different organizations.
Cagalli's trouble in war
Because [omitting some stuff I didn't really understand], Cagalli, she is trapped in a very difficult position.
Shindou: [omitting some boring political stuff I didn't really understand] ...Because she shares the same feelings of the common people, people don't think of her as a politician with the right mind set. In SEED, it wasn't so much about politics as it was about war. In DESTINY, though; its been politics since the beginning. Because Cagalli has experienced battle; after growing up, Cagalli has shown such a (cautious) side. That is why she's an outsider in the political circle. For example, if we say war is very troublesome, then it is better that we say we cannot find a solution and (so what we can do) is appeal for peace. Some cannot find satisfaction in this way of thinking, but there are people who want communication through other ways besides fighting. There are people who think Cagalli's opinion is unacceptable, but such is her case.
Even so, she should have supported the unstable Athrun more.
Shindou: How could that've happened? Now that Athrun is back to the way he was in SEED before he met Cagalli. And at the time [referring to Phase 24-25], how could you talk to her in that way? For Cagalli, I think she felt surprised, and thought, "What happened to this guy?" Cagalli's feelings, while they're not really quite there, are near the position of being betrayed. Her partner wants to leave, and her feelings are of shock. She tried so hard, in taking responsibility for what happened. But she didn't yell and whine, like a damsel in distress. In many cases she doesn't have to say anything; someone is usually there to give her the strength she needs; she doesn't have to appeal for it. Before, Kisaka, Kira, and Uzumi, her father, and Athrun were such pillars of support. The help certain people ask for - she usually doesn't need to ask for it; she gets it. Now, with Athrun, they are at odds. If there was a chance to make them realize each other's importance, perhaps it would be better. [omitting one sentence I didn't quite understand]
The relationship between Stellar and Shinn
Kuwashima: Compared to Cagalli, Stellar knows how to yell and whine. She can't really live otherwise.

Shindou: Well, you don't need to intentionally yell at people, and they will still feel you're yelling.
Kuwashima: But Stellar talks and communicates to few; she has few friends to talk to. Seeing other people argue, it makes her in awe. She is a solitary person. No one talks to her, so she has no one to argue with. Stellar and Shinn are in love, but even though it is a bond between a boy and a girl, it is more simple than the typical woman and man relationship. Shinn is scared for Stellar, as she is like his sister.
Shindou: If you see it this way, I feel that their affection is different. It isn't the usual kind of 'love', but I think Shinn sincerely wants to protect her.
Kuwashima: Yeah? I'm glad to hear that!

Shindou: Even if he has spent a long time, he would do anything to save Stellar. This is Shinn's merit; it is a very strong merit.
Kuwashima: But Stellar herself is very strong too.

Shinn's relationship to her, how do you hope it will become?
Kuwashima: Mmm I think everybody thinks it is for certain, but it looks like tragic love. The Earth Alliance wants her and Phantom Pain's memory eliminated. There are many things that can happen; people worry that Stellar may start to fall in love with Shinn or discontinue to fight. No one knows anything. Even so, no matter what their fate is, I hope [omitting some stuff I don't quite understand] and that even if she's going to die, she will still live in the hearts of Shinn and the fans. But I'm hoping Shinn can protect her.

Shindou: She doesn't have the chance of being in touch with other characters if it continues like this.
Kuwashima: If one would say she is lonely, then she is very, very lonely. To her, the people on Minerva may be making fun of her.
Shindou: I cannot see how the future of DESTINY will go. However, the future does not look so dark and doomed. Perhaps unexpected and brighter events of good will happen!
Kuwashima: I'm waiting for it.
Shindou: We really don't know how its going to go, but I want to say to everyone, please let us wait together!

Criticism and Commentary on SEED BOYS
Shinn Asuka
Shindou: My eyes cannot leave Shinn. He is the main character, a very special character, but he makes me feel empathetic towards him, like a needle shot at the heart.
Kuwashima: A needle?

Shindou: The words he says, and the actions he does, are rebellious, but very endearing.
Kuwashima: Yes, I feel he is the type of person who can be popular and close-knit with others.
Shindou: I just feel like noogie-ing his head; I want to tell him, "Don't be like that, so gloomy! Really!"

Kuwashima: Lunamaria treats him like a younger brother. Maybe it is something in him that stimulates the motherly instinct in her. He seems more of a son than a love interest.
Shindou: I say he could be a love interest too. In an emergency, he is very strong; that is his attraction.
Athrun Zala
Shindou: I feel that Athrun, from before, is distant.
*Laugh*
Shindou: Even though he's really handsome and smart, Coordinators are all like that. But that is no reason to be distant.
Kuwashima: Oh?
Shindou: Obviously he has talent, but he fails in the critical moments.

Shindou: His awkwardness, though; its endearing. That is the reason why people would want to protect him.
Kuwashima: Yeah, but even though he is a good man, it must be very tiring; to stay in a relationship with that kind of man. (Babying him and all that.)
Shindou: He's so serious, you feel that he is weird.

The engagement he had to Lacus; it was as if it were a huge gift. Like, "Oh, wow, the pop singer is engaged to be my future wife!" He is not especially good with relationships. He cannot talk to females first. I think that Cagalli may have sparked strange feelings in him, so that he felt comfortable enough to stay with her. Recently, he has become less stiff and reserved, and surprisingly warm to women. He has learned to naturally touch a woman's body.
Kuwashima: Oh really? Just what happened in those two years?

Shindou: Its like he woke up. I am surprised. Audience is probably this way too. Because awkwardness is his attraction.
