Writer's Block: End of the World as We Know It

My, aren't we apocalyptic this week?  Besides, we all know the answer is "Jaguars falling from the sky."

I find it interesting the number of answers so far that overlook the obvious counter-question: end for whom?  "Us all" implies humanity, but that's not the end of the world, just the end of our species observing it.  That's happened a few million ( Read more... )

The flu: What will be, will be. I agree with you that the humans around us are more likely to cause trouble! Myself, I'm going to work as usual. I admit, we've got a bit more canned stuff on the pantry shelves right now, but we tend to have a lot of it around anyway.

The end of the world: I like the idea of jaguars falling from the sky. I'll go with the cats, rather than the vehicles. I'd rather be torn to bits than squished. *snicker* Though they might hold off on a fellow feline...

*giggles*

Thank you for being rational. Actually, I think you unintentionally found your answer: human stupidity. However the world ends, I'm sure the cause will be something we would have been able to blame on human stupidity.

When you say "jaguars", do you mean cars or cats?

Jaguars = nice.

Liberal Democrats = as unaffilated as I am, I take offense to this person. Must have been a Conservative Republican, eh?

Being stoned for having raging allergies = *SNORT* Omg, I shouldn't laugh, because it's so true. Spring has definitely started here, and I find myself a) sneezing more and b) suffering from sinus!headaches after walking outside. And, I can just imagine someone sneezing and everyone FREAKING out and being like "OMGSWINEFLU!"

I had fun with this one. The jaguars come to me by way of Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars and I'm not quite certain where he found them. The allergies -- I'm sort of kidding on the square on that one. It's a little too easy to imagine, but I've always had a colorful imagination.

LOVE that avvie!
