That sounds like a great story. Hmm. And a great idea.
Have you looked into the Amazon Kindle site also? Some of the people in the writer's group I (sometimes) go to have books and articles up on that.
And how is life? I miss your entries here on LJ! How's the offspring doing? And your dogs? Still doing search and rescue, or is that on hold until the little guy is older?
I did look at the Kindle site, but Lulu was friendly and has a broad distribution base (assuming anyone is looking at your book there; actually having them promote the book costs extra). So far, selling directly has done better than selling through the little publisher that took another of the set, though in both cases I think I sold to people I know. Someday my books will have to break out of that eggshell!
Life is okay. No SAR these days, as the dogs currently in residence aren't trained for it and the little guy takes all my attention. I'm trying to get back in the LJ habit, but at present my life tends to take place in Facebook-sized snippets. They're quicker to type.
Just waiting for it to ship - I went the hard copy route just because I wasn't sure about the e-format working on my computer (think about pdf format for next book?). Anyway, can't wait to read it and review it! :D
