Lyrical Analysis
pretty girl is suffering while he confesses everything
Anakin's confessions are rather torturous for him but it is actually Padme who quietly suffers. Anakin releases his anger, his pain, his desperate emotions, but Padme holds hers in and soaks his up.
she's beautiful as usual with bruises on her ego
and a killer instinct tells her to be aware of evil men
i love this lyric, it was my email sig for a while. you might think Padme has no instinct for being aware of evil men, but she knows Dooku is a villian long before everyone else figures it out and she's not particularly fond of Palpatine (it always seemed to me she tolerated him at best). as for Anakin, i think she realizes how thin the line between good and evil Anakin walks, but she is an idealist in love - she thinks her love and his good side will win out, she thinks love is stronger thananything the Darkness can give him. she loses in the immediate, but in the final act Padme's love, via her son, is able to save Anakin - and the galaxy - from the Dark.

it is immediately clear upon their reunion in Episode II that Anakin is desperately in love with Padme and after stumbling over their first meeting he confidently woos her. Padme really has no chance, she and Anakin are all but thrown together and from the moment she says "Please don't look at me that way" it seems he does nothing else.

there is something magnetic about Anakin. even with love he brings little but sadness to Padme - every happy moment in their lives seems haunted by the overlying tragedy (this is most poignant in the balcony scene in RotS; they're so giddy they can't speak straight and it seems there's an underlying desperation guiding their words and feelings).
Musical Analysis
this song has an urgency that drives the lyrics much like the turmoil in the galaxy drives Anakin and Padme's relationship. for their entire relationship Anakin and Padme are embroiled in a galactic conflict that is much bigger than the two of them.

i think this would be a fun video to make - a nice Padme-centric Anakin piece, and i'd love to do a The Tragedy that is Padme kind of thing. since Padme's not in the OT at all it would be a purely PT vid, Episode II heavy but starting and ending with Episodes I&III.
