I dont think the strike concept will work and one day doesnt make a difference.
If it was maybe all users cancel their accounts or dont use LJ for a week or more it may work.

Its like trying to ban from buying gas for a whole day...
just my opinion.
Besides my life is empty enough so I need my LJ fix

I deffinatly understand the need for the fix.
The point isn't really to disrupt anything. It's more to show them it CAN BE DONE.
It's not to cause dire happenings and force them to bend to our will.

Just to show mr. man that we are capable of doing so if we feel the need.

As of right now they are new and learning the ropes. Now is the time to gently show them EXACTLY WHERE THOSE ROPES ARE.

Don't mind me. I just get fired up about subtle censorship.

always do.
Unless I'm too drunk. And I have Kate the Wicked to slap me around until I shut up and go back to my tent for that.

I used to be on an LJ-like blog thing called OpenDiary. A few months in, it split into OpenDiary (paid accounts) and FreeOpenDiary (free accounts, like mine.) Protests like this followed, which resulted in the existing ads being less effective and generating less revenue, which resulted in ads no longer being optional, which resulted in more protests, which resulted in more ads, which resulted in ads from unscrupulous places, which resulted in adware/spyware on FOD, which resulted in my leaving.
I did a brief stint at Xanga before coming to LiveJournal. Xanga was nice, but no one was there.

heh. i use to code and post my own blog on geocities back in the day. lj feels like home these days though, dispite the fact that i try to crosspost to myspace and (starting just yesterday actually) facebook.

fuck the money though. i was shined off on this strike thing because of the attempt at subtle censorship.
