So. My mother and i got into an argument about the wedding recently...more like a disagreement. She wanted a church wedding while Jamie and I would be fine forgoing such a thing. Regardless, we opted to have both a church wedding and a Justice of the Peace wedding. One for us, one for the fam. Jamie and i want our wedding to be outdoors,

shannon, i love you, and i'm sorry you and your mom are not seeing eye to eye. don't let this take the fun out of your wedding, though! maybe tell her that a church wedding is important to you because it's important to her and jamie's parents and they're important to you, etc etc, and tell her something ego boosting like, "i really want you to handle the planning of the church wedding, because i know you'd do such a good job making it beautiful. i really trust your judgment," or something like that, and then just go along with whatever she says for the church thing. then you can go nuts for your middle-of-the-woods, costume wedding! by the way, i love the peacock idea. maybe i'll go as a gorilla?
