Chunky Period! Uterine Lining Photos

Jan 25, 2008 23:33

A few folks asked me to post the photos I took of the uterine lining I got out of my diva cup from a period a few months ago.

WARNING: THESE ARE GRAPHIC

These photos show pretty clearly what my body wanted to get rid of. They're bloody, they're not for the squeamish. So, don't click the cut if you don't want to see them!!! ( Read more... )

I know exactly what you are talking about, but no I promise you, it's just lining. My doc friend checked it out, said it's real common. There's no way in heck I could have been pregnant which is why I was freaked out. My fiance has been snipped for about 2 years now, I'm on the ring, and infertility runs rampant in my family, and I hadn't had sex in at least a few months. I was still healing from my vestibuletomy. It would have been an act of god if this thing even was a failed embryo.

I had the same thing happen a few months ago. I had been bleeding for 2 months and the dr. put me on progesterone pills. Had an ultra sound done and they said my lining was VERY thick. She said the next step was for a D&C. Well, after taking the pills for 3 weeks, 1 week later, I started. And passed 2 HUGE chunks of stuff. Like the one in your 1st pic except bigger (1 in thick & about the width of a 3x3 post it). Took them to my dr. She said she'd never seen anything like it before. Sent it to pathology. They said it was just tissue & blood. Had another ultra sound and my lining was back to normal. They said the progesterone caused my body to have a "natural D&C". Scary & strangest but coolest thing I've ever seen!!

I Totally had this same exact thing happen to me when I was about 16. Passed out late at night from serious cramps with a heating pad to console me. Woke up the next morning and found some craziness that looked exactly like these pictures. My doc also had never seen something like that and sent it to pathology. Tissue. So. Weird.

All those little bloody chunks = my period all the time.

I'm also curious to see if you had them examined.

Mine is like that, too. Every month, i get chunky clot things along with the blood itself. It's good to know that the OP's doc said it's fairly common, and not something I should be worried about. I've always been curious.

Is yours painful? I have pain constantly (Stabbing pains mostly) and when lady time comes around, I can't even move. All I do for the first day is lie in bed and cry.

I'm supposed to go have some tests done and whatnot, but I'm hoping it's just me being unfortunate.

It's really awful leading up to and including the first day. If it weren't for having to pay bills and things, it would be a calling out of work situation, because I don't really want to do anything but lie in bed feeling sorry for myself in the dark. Yoga (especially the cobra and downward dog poses), orgasms, hot showers, tea, and cramp bark and shepard's purse (herbs in capsules or tinctures) help quite a bit.

When I'm on my period, I get slightly smaller stuff looking like the grey bit in the last photo. I just assumed it was normal. But that first photo scared the crap out of me, lol.
I hope everything is fine.
