Hi everyone,

It's Dorian Solot here -- I'm one of the people who present the Female Orgasm program at colleges, and I'm co-author of the book I Love Female Orgasm. (I'm also a huge fan of VaginaPagina, as many of you know.)

We are currently hiring a sex educator to work with us. Please feel free to forward the listing below to people, listservs, or networks you're part of where you think people might be interested!

Seeking Sex Educator for Part-Time Traveling Position
posted July 7, 2009

We are seeking to hire a part-time sex educator to co-present funny, educational programs on college campuses around the country.

We are independent sex educators and authors who speak at colleges nationwide (more about our work: http://www.sexualityeducation.com). Demand for our programs is exceeding our availability, so we are growing our team of educators who are trained to present our programs.

This educator we hire will speak primarily in regions of the U.S. outside the Northeast (including, but not limited to, the Midwest, West, and South). Applicants may live anywhere in the country; all travel expenses will be covered. People of any race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation are encouraged to apply.

The position will require approximately 15 to 30 days of travel per semester (January through May, and September through December). Most speaking engagements require being away from home a minimum of three days in a row (a travel day to get there, a speaking day, and a travel day to return home). Since the work follows the academic schedule, summers are off. Educators receive training in how to present the programs and present in pairs.

This is a part-time position that could be compatible with another job (a full-time one that is extremely flexible, or a part-time job where you make your own hours), as it is possible to do a fair amount of work by laptop and cell phone while on the road.

Applicants must:
- have experience working with adults, college students, and/or high school students as a teacher, trainer, workshop presenter, or public speaker
- be knowledgeable about sexuality, and able to answer questions about sex with accuracy, comfort, and sensitivity
- have a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience after college
- be willing to speak in front of large crowds (hundreds to 1,000+ people) as well as small groups
- have comfort and experience speaking in ways that are inclusive of GLBTQ people and relationships
- be willing and able to travel by car and airplane
- be extremely reliable and trustworthy

Past experience as a performer (actor, dancer, etc.) is a bonus but definitely not required.

To apply:
Email resume and cover letter which explains your experience, interest in the position, and availability, to info@sexualityeducation.com .

Video or audio clips of yourself presenting (about any topic, not limited to sexuality) are strongly recommended if available. If you don't have footage of yourself speaking in front of an audience, we would also welcome video of a mock presentation where you film yourself presenting five or so minutes' worth of information. Do not hold up your resume and cover letter in order to prepare your video clip; it's fine to send video a few days later.

You can send us a link where we can watch/listen online, or mail a DVD, VHS videotape, CD, cassette, Mini-DV, etc. to Marshall Miller and Dorian Solot, PO Box 1932, Albany, NY 12201. If you need your submission returned, please include a return package with postage.

Thank you!
