Cut out all sugars and simple carbs. They feed the yeast. Eat Paleo-ish, meats, green veggies, a very small amount of low sugar fruit like berries, fats. Start a decent probiotic daily. This systemic yeast needs to be treated systemically, not just locally.

Thanks! I'm aware of the low candida/candida free diet and am already practicing it. I also take a high quality probiotic every morning.

I think it takes a 1-2 weeks to really start working and clearing up. I know you said they're reoccurring so I would suggest trying a yoni cleanse. They're really amazing and have helped women with BV, infertility, and a lot of other things. Here's the website I bought one from

3 days is probably not quite long enough for a yeast infection -- especially a stubborn one like this!

https://vaginapagina.livejournal.com/22229410.html has comments suggesting 5-7 days, and then once or twice a week to maintain acidity for the next couple months.

For external use, I'd suggest a shallow bath with about a cup of vinegar in it (maybe apple cider, because it smells a little better). I would not do any douching (especially not with an IUD!), but https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2567125/ does say, "Three vinegar-containing douches selectively inhibited vaginal pathogens associated with bacterial vaginosis, group B streptococcal vaginitis, and candidiasis, but not lactobacilli, suggesting to the investigators that vinegar (5 percent acetic acid) douches may be less harmful or may be beneficial." Be careful; if it stings too much, rinse off, maybe use some coconut ( ... )

You are always such an amazing help - thank you! I did think a bit about diabetes (which runs in my family), so if this boric acid doesn't work I'll go back into the doctor.

Fingers crossed! (But yeah, if diabetes runs in the family, definitely worth checking on just on general principles, probably.) And glad to be useful!

I had similar problems many years ago. Really powerful yogurt can be squooged into the vagina, then lay on your back for a while to keep it there. It can help. Super-active probiotics too can be mixed up with slippery elm or something to make it like a slurry and put up there too. Don't use any starches though- they break down to sugars.

The slurry stuff can be used as a "implanted enema", that is put in the rectum too. Then lay on your back for a while so it doesn't insist on being pooped out immediately.

A syringe without a needle works for both places, but obviously NOT in the vagina AFTER the rectum.

A couple other things worked. The boyfriend used the anti-yeast cream on his penis several times a day for a week. Presto! no more automatic infections every month.

And a Betadine soaked tampon does the trick. There is some risk of becoming allergic to iodine that way though, so I stopped doing it. Allergy to iodine is dangerous and means no seafood ever ever again...

I really appreciate all these tips! I continue to have issues, unfortunately. Most of the vaginal symptoms cleared up and even the backside stuff was getting a little better, I thought, but after my period this month, bam! Everything was back again. Just made an appointment to see my doctor. I'll update here if I get any good results!!!

Have you considered CV? rubymermaid2 December 19 2018, 19:26:11 UTC
Have you considered cytolytic vaginosis that presents very similar to yeast? I have had it 3 times, closely following the tail of a yeast infection treatment (difluccan namely). More info here:

Also, I recommend baking soda douches twice a day for 1-2 weeks. In this case the probiotics should be stopped since it's an overgrowth of lactobacillius that causes this condition.
