Annoying bumps in my genital area

Hey, I keep getting these bumps in my genital area and I'm trying to figure out what they are. They start out small and skin colored, then as they get larger they turn red. I usually get them right before my period or while I'm on my period and using a pad. Sometimes they randomly appear but I think it may be because of the type of panties I wear ( ( Read more... )

I used to get these all the time, also around my period. I used to wear somewhat snug undies, and with pads, they'd cause irritation. Switching to looser knickers and the type of pad I used helped. My gyno said it was vaginal acne.

While there is a slight chance that they might be HSV (herpes), it looks more like what kurikuribebi suggests: acne. You might also have a slight sensitivity to latex, which could contribute (making it an allergic reaction).

You might want to get a swab of one of the bumps just to make sure it's not HSV, and it's not out of the question you might want to talk to an allergist to see if it might be a mild latex allergy -- but it does look more like ingrown-hair or blocked pore, yeah.

Thanks, I have really sensitive skin and a lot of allergies so I’m not sure what it is. I plan to schedule a doctors appointment to find out.

I get spots between my labia....start out as a hard little lump that doesn't bother me, but through time they fill, swell and get a bit painful. Eventually then (usually in the night) they will open and naturally express the contents, which I'll find as a hardened lump stuck to me upon waking.

I know they're perfectly normal :)
