Was having cramping tonight and decided to check my IUD strings. As i felt around looking for them i could feel hard tissue inside my vagina that i had to get beyond to find my strings. Ouch-sorry to hear that! And of course it would be now that your PCM is unavailable, and under circumstances when everyone in health care is short-handed owing to COVID-particularly if you live in the US.

I’m not even remotely a gynecologist, but was there any sensation in the tissue you touched? That would rule out something like a decidual cast, which would cause considerable cramping on the way out.

Yes, there was sensation. Feels as though maybe something outside my vagina is pushing against it as there is also a feeling of pressure which is why i am concerned that it may be a prolapse of some sort. I did have to reach fairly deep to find my strings and the lump so hopefully if it is POP off some variety it is a mild case. The fact that it is coupled with moderate cramping is what is most concerning. Going to call my insurance and Dr office today to try to sort things out and get an appointment made. This is a new issue for me so maybe there is just some inflammation or something causing the discomfort that may resolve on its own? Still going to get checked out though.
