I watched it yesterday because Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, and James MacAvoy seemed like a pretty and respectable cast. I didn't expect much. THEN MY MIND WAS BLOWN.

"What do you know about me?"

I was pretty much hypnotized by Michael Fassbender. I know there was other stuff going on, but...you know? WANT.

haha, I get that. I REALLY GET THAT.
Before I watched, I had no idea who he was. Then he started rattling things and rocking that wetsuit and I just....couldn't think.

I fell for him back when he was on this terrible (TERRIBLE!) show called Hex, in which he played an extremely hot fallen angel. You should probably watch it. :D

Oh yeah. I've seen JM in some roles before, cute guy, but as Xavier? He owns the role. There's a lot of early SV Clarky goodness to him, and I think this pones the other period pieces and films he's done... in part because of the role and in part because of his chemistry with Michael Fassbender.
I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS MOVIE.
TOO MUCH AWESOME.

I thought people were being a bit OTT when they were describing the guy love between Charles and Erik...

But then I watched the film. And then I was convinced it was true. Like, I even went 'ewwwwww' when Charles and Moira kissed at the end.

I thought the same thing until yesterday. (Because there has been a lot of erik and charles floating around with the other xmen movies and I didn't quite get it to that extent.I assumed it was slash for the sake of it.)

AND THEN!.!.! It's really like their growing together is the emotional anchor to the story.

OMY. SO GLAD TO KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE GROSSED OUT BY THAT. haha, I like Rose Byrne and all, but I was like,Charles, what are you doing pretending she's Erik? That's not nice.

I KNOW RIGHT?! Charles, stop betraying your love! STOP IT! Clearly, Moira is a rebound.

And yes, I love Rose Byrne, but still. *waves Charles/Erik flag*

And idk why I wasn't similarly grossed out by Raven and Erik hooking up (though I'm not entirely convinced they did in the end...), but it's like...Erik just being That Guy. *shrugs*

I thought it was really funny, because I never got any real indication of Charles/Moira. I mean, he hit on her with his professor voice, but lets face it, he did that a lot. INDISCRIMINATELY. His feelings for Erik were too deep and beautiful to be cheapened with such silliness. I mean, honestly, honestly, I felt like I was watching a romantic drama or something whenever they interacted. I mean that in the best way possible ( ... )

I haven't seen x-men first class yet. I'm so glad you liked it and you love Eric and Charles in it. I want to see it so bad. I always loved them from the movies played by older characters and from the comics and the cartoons.

I don't slash but I think they are a superb bromance. I loved their bromance waaay before I even heard of the word bromance. Some of the best cartoons and comics were when they would have tempary truce and work together.

So good luck w/ those fics.

HEE, I didn't know you liked them *high fives* I'd give my highest recommendations for the movie, and in general I'm not one for movies. Macavoys and fassbenders friendship translates beautifully to the screen and I just wished they could have their own show.

They are awesome. Clearly the most important relationship in the x-men canon. What I love about X-men is that the comics let their characters be three-dimensional like this. And Charles isn't of that weak class of superheroes that gives up on people and whines a broods in a limp trench coat. *ahem*
In conclusion: AWESOME.

I'm more on the Erik-is-pining-for Charles-but-Charles-doesn't-quite-get-it side of things as in:

Erik: Oh, please, Charles, shoot me! Closer! Closer!

Charles: No, I'm going to make you point that giant yonic satellite dish toward us instead.

Erik: Fine. *pulls satellite dish toward them with great effort, but not all the way* NOW will you shoot me?

(I also picked Chlavis AND WRITE IT NOW. I'm greedy.)
