Jered and I finished coding a facebook application. Please don't tell any future employers or god. We started this back in November and then forgot about it for a few months, and finally decided we really needed to finish some of these things we have started ( Read more... )

I... had that same idea a few months ago, but didn't do anything about it. AND NOW YOU BEAT ME TO MARKET.

If you'd like to steal the rest of my idea, implement a very simple quote ranking framework like there is on bash.org. Extra points if you come up with an algorithm to show the most relevant quotes to a given user given their set of friends.

That's for version 2.0.

Though if you want to implement it I think Jered and I would give you a share of the profits. So far we've made $0.13.

Actually, if you'd let me peek at your code I'd appreciate it. I'd like to see the source of a relatively uncomplicated Facebook App that isn't HELLO WORLD.

Steven you need to add a feature for when one of your friends (who wasn't even there) gets a quote wrong, people can submit a request to edit.

Seems that you're able to edit someone else's quote. Or is that only when you're referred to as the speaker?

And yes, +1 on multi-person.

Cool stuff so far!

From the help page:

"How do I change or delete a quote?

You can always edit or remove quotes you added or quotes attributed to you. Find the quote in the Browse view, then click on the "Remove" or "Edit" link in the lower-lefthand corner of the quote's box to change or delete it."

Yeah, the multi-person thing is something we are working on, as is rating or voting on quotes. At the moment you can just attribute it to one of the speakers.
