I was doing trial runs of the various patterns (in various stitch types) and just NOT liking the way this particular multi-colored yarn was looking (it's not variegated... the colors don't shift from one to the next, but rather abruptly change). Decided to go with the Mitered Squares pattern. That one actually looks interesting in a good way. lol

I have to say, I enjoy doing the ripple/chevron in double crochet. It's quick, easy, and looks nice. And single crochets just feel like they take forEVER!
