Wow! I have to say, this is the first time I've really started to like Burke. She's right, though. She's objective and they aren't. And poor Bones just can't get a break. GaH! This story is breaking my heart!

I'm glad you're getting used to Burke. She's not meant to be a likeable character, just a necessary one, but if she came across as a total bitch I would have failed as a writer.

One more chapter, I think, then this installment of the story is over. I hope the wait won't be quite as long this time.

Ah, every time I read another part to this series I want more! I like how Spock is conflicted about his feelings and almost seems scared of them, even if he won't acknowledge it even to himself.

Now the protectiveness, the need to shield Leonard from everyone else was still there, but it had lessened in the minutes he spend sitting beside the human in the dark, listening to the faint echo of the other’s disturbed mind.
