Oh hell... *melts into the floor*

You're killing me! I hope you realize that. If I'm going to die, this is a good way to go! :D

This was so emotional, so powerful. You're one of those authors that can knock me on my ass with one sentence. You've got so much talent!

Let me go all fangirl over some lines:

When Jack knelt down beside him he was crying. The human waited until his dry retching had stopped, then pulled him into his arms, rubbed his back, kissed the top of his head and felt ridiculously grateful for the TARDIS. Maybe she wasn’t as unreasonable as he’d thought her to be.

Props to the TARDIS! She obviously knows what she's doing. I love seeing her as a character and you write it so well!

“Because I love you and that means so much more than anything you could ever do to me. I’d forgive you, no matter what you did. Would do anything for you, even deny myself killing that asshole. Don’t you know that? You’re everything to me, Doc. Everything! I don’t mean this life, travelling the universe and all, I’ve had that ( ... )

Wow! Thanks for the mindblowing review!
I like writing the TARDIS as a thing with a personalily, but I cant see her actually talking to people. Besides, since she is a ship after all I believe her ways are kind of limited. Glad you approve.
huggabledog below wrote that the Doctor's sacrifice wasn't actually rape but more like prostitution for a noble cause. That's how the Doctor sees it, but naturally Jack could never accept that, and I in his place wouldn't either.

Lol! Awwwww. That was a brilliant speech, Jack. Hope you remember it. :) And hooray for the TARDIS! I like how you give her a personality. And oh, the Doctor. :( *hugs*

This was really satisfying! You do really great Protective Jack!Conflicted Doctor! I'm so proud of Jack, giving the Doctor a little 'tough love'. Maybe we'll get to see the Doctor's reaction to Jack's little speech when he's actually awake enough to respond to it? :-)

What a gift! Thank you for giving us the "what happened after". I've wondered what would happen when Jack woke after this incident. Funny thing is I can actually see the Doctor's point of view here. If you look at it logically it **was** a question of a thousand lives versus the Doctor's wellbeing. And I don't think it was rape either - I hate to say it, but it was closer to prostitution for a noble cause (since Slade didn't imprison the fugitives in the first place). The point really is that most people accept that there is a limit to self sacrifice, and there should be. The Doctor's just too guilt-ridden to accept that fact.
Lovely speeches. So hurtful when Jack said that he wasn't The Doctor (unfair, but a well aimed blow there Jack). I don't suppose we can hope for a later meeting again with Slade? See what happens then with the three of them? Thanks heaps, this was great.

I don't think there'll be another sequel but I won't rule it out completely either. Wirting this was almost painfull, and I'm glad you liked it!
Thanks for the lovely feedback!

I think it's done, unless a plotbunny happens to bite me. Right now I am facing the next chapter of Shade and that will be hard enough.

Since you're talking about it, didn't you want to write your next chapter this weekend?

I have just joined the wintercompanion community, because natrally the next chalange is tempting. I even have an idea for my story and now I don't know which I'll write first. Maybe I'll write them at the same time, but Shade will need a while, as usual. Sorry.
