067. Sunrise, Yesung/Sungmin
They were silent as they saw the sun rising from the never ending horizon and it was beautiful, yes, it indeed was but then to Yesung it was just something that happened each and every day and maybe because for him, he was already with the most beautiful person in the world - the one he treasured, the one he fought for and most of all the one he was slowly losing.
This is quite unfair, don’t you think? Yesung thought and he heard the other sigh and he knew exactly why. But, it wasn’t his fault that his mind prompted him to think of such thing right? After all, his heart was breaking into little pieces he didn’t know existed. I’m not forcing you to read my mind, you know.
“I know but it’s harder not to because of the silence.”
Sungmin was different and his friends knew it and they didn’t feel weird about it or anything because having a mind reader friend was better than having a suck up. Yes Sungmin could actually read minds and he was born with that “power” and he couldn’t explain how he got it or anything but he has theories about it and one was because his mother drank too many those medicines that could kill the baby when it was still in the womb of the mother. Yes, maybe that was the whole root of this “power”.
I just don’t understand why not. I waited for you and I-I-I… this isn’t about Ryeowook right?
“No Yesung, this isn’t about Ryeowook and it’s not about you either… it’s me - it’s all about me.”
Yesung’s brows furrowed at this but then he instantly relaxed as his gaze met the rising sun and the colored sky. Clouds were starting to scatter above them and it was beautiful, yes, but not as beautiful as Sungmin. No, that could never happen.
You’re still waiting for that one guy whom you can’t read his thoughts.
Sungmin only nodded at Yesung’s thoughts because in fact, that was the real reason why Sungmin had dumped everyone who had courted him. It wasn’t because they were ugly or anything because truth to be told, they were all good looking guys that could pass as models or anything but hearing their thoughts wasn’t really helpful to Sungmin. He could vaguely remember one guy thought about him as a “sexy hot bunny” and Sungmin couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows at that. Who would want to hear other people’s fantasy? Sungmin was sure he prefer not to.
I’m sorry I can’t be that guy.
“I am too. You’re really a great guy. We could still be friends, right?”
“Of course, Minnie; we always are.”
Yesung then gave Sungmin a one arm hug before he walked away, leaving Sungmin all alone as he stared into the horizon and just when he thought everything was quite - he had heard Yesung’s thoughts once again.
And I guess being friends is all we could ever be.
