Almost as if everyone got the notion to use these things all at exactly the same time. Which is actually quite disturbing to consider.
Venice sounds very fascinating. Is transport by boat also the norm in the Wizarding part? Do they have the kind with the blokes in funny hats who sing? Or is that purely a Muggle thing?

That is disturbing yes.
Venezia is like no place else on Earth. And the Wizarding city ah, how can I describe? Is very tradizionale, like maybe three centuries since. Of course there is floo, and apparate, but il gondolieri still transport people across the canals. They are useful, communication - they know everything that happen in the city, so if you want to stay unseen here, do not use a gondola. Same, if you want the city to know your arrival, is better than announcing it over the floo. There is not so much singing, though. In my experience they are very miserable, like storks.
If you want to stay incogito, you can always wear the Bauta, another tradition. It is a mask. But you must to obtain this, officially, from the maschereri.

The city sounds really beautiful, apart from the miserable storks. Perhaps they would cheer up if they did a bit of singing.
