I was worried that you might not want to answer this meme, as...well, you know. A lot of stuff happened back then. But I'm happy to see what you think of him now.
Yeah. Actually, a few weeks ago I went and read through the manga, and it was surprising as to how close we could have been to the original canon...five years ago. Save for giving you spoilers, the Gate we had going on along with the new monster was pretty danged close, without associating the monster to an actual person (a.k.a. a new homunculus). I wish we had been able to finish that plotline, but...things happened, and the game died. I don't even remember very clearly what it was, if it was us, or...
...but anyway, I can most definitely relate to the grumpy!muse situation you're having. Roy doesn't react well to being woken up in the first place, and after five years? "Not a morning person" doesn't even start to describe his reaction. XD
As I recall, it was at least partially that some people were difficult to reach, and that on the whole most of us weren't happy with the way the anime went off the deep end, so to speak. It seems like most of the major characters had some serious RL stuff going on as well... The last post was one of ours, so I'm relatively certain it wasn't us. ^_~
I'm pretty sure it's Hughes keeping me up at night, the past couple of days, too... ¬¬

The Hughes in the back of my mind is also a little irritated that I woke him up and the only other person in my head he knows is Havoc. ^_~
