It comes with time. Honest. And with small victories.

I stopped cycling, on my vacation, when I realised that if I kept cycling, I was going to stop having fun. I didn't make it all the way back to Toronto. I went to the beach about 100 kms outside the city, and called friends to come get me.

And that's a small victory: I accepted a small failure (cycling something like 400 kms rather than the 500 originally planned), for a larger gain: the memory of a really blessed good vacation, culminating in an afternoon at the beach.

And something like 400 kms, and the funny cyclist suntan to prove it, is darned well good enough.

We learn to walk pretty much by falling down a lot, you know?

I didn't mean to make you feel bad! I'm just a bit silly about cycling!

I'm okay. This has not been a good week, but it's over, and next week will be ... if not better, at least a new week.
