Sorry to hear about the foot - why did your work take away the remote email access? That sounds bizarre? Can they re-install it for you so you can work from home?

we had a big security change not long ago, so that we're now on the same security setting as the bits of the civil service like cabinet office and home office... It's why I can't get on LJ/ fb/ email from my desk, and the only remote working solutions are blackberies, which only about 20 people have - there's literally no way of checking your email otherwise, or getting onto our file network. It's a pain!

Yeah. That's a pain. The nhs has a system where you have a secure email address to log in to that you can get from anywhere as it's webmail. That stuff has to be really secure as it's patient information type stuff so I am quite surprized that you haven't got something similar.

How did you hurt your foot?

hmm, maybe I will mention that to IT and see what they say. They don't like the new security system either...

Hurt myself through either wearing heels or running; probably both (although not running in heels, that would be crazy!), see my latest post
