Well said, man. I have to agree. I think that it's an unfortunately small group of people making themselves heard over the rest of the population that is just too apathetic (about EVERYTHING) to care enough to form their own opinion.
I for one wish that Maine wasn't full of these apathetic people. WTF, Maine? WTF?
And please. I still have to deal with people who think African-Americans aren't people (*coughcoughdadcough*), 40 years after the civil rights movement. Sadly, it will probably be a long time until gay rights are truly awarded nationwide - and even then, we'll have to deal with people who still hold hatred in their hearts. :(
