May Sketch Fest at EMG community. My round up.

May 22, 2010 17:42

I did six "sketches" in the EMG Sketch Fest. Each was done in less than one hour. Some of these are unfinished and will be returned to later. If you click on the thumbnails you can see larger version.

You can see the full "Sketch Fest" at http://community.livejournal.com/emglivejournal/3567.html

Drawing from imagination is hard, though I confess to being mildly tipsy when I drew this hang gliding dragon. Sketchfest started late evening in my time zone and I had just got back from meeting some friends at the pub. Oil pastels on sugar paper

Managed to basically block out this portrait and will finish it later in the week. Digital

At this point I went to bed for the night and pick up again in the morning.

I started off my Saturday morning with a response to "Unexpected dinosaurs" from phoenixelement3
Pencils on fancy paper.

In response to "A aged female dragon wearing a crown
and holding a message in a bottle
is accompanied by kittens
and she hovers inside crystals
framed against the moon
The events take place on a stairwell " from selinafenech
I might go back and finish this one later. Digital

Pastels on sugar paper. Quite pleased with this one. Much helped by fact that friend tweeted a photo of a baby owl http://twitpic.com/1q04pl. Things are much easier to draw with a real reference.
