After a weekend of serendipidy
I went to Williansport over the weekend to see Suz (my favourite monkey), and had the best time ever!! (more below)
I kind of had a hard time figuring out how I was going to get there. (I could have taken the china town bus, but it would have been kind of complicated, and the greyhound took a long time and involved Suzie picking me up in Philly etc...) So I was leaving on Friday and at noon I still didn't know how I was getting there! but magically it all worked out, and I left here friday evening (in my parent's car, thats what serendipity will do for ya), and arrived in Williamsport 1 AMish.
There Suzie had for me the best present ever!! A HOOKAH!! As you may know Suz and I love to Sheesha, we sheesha like it's going out of style. I hadn't had a chance to smoke hookah since I left Tallahassee because I haven't found a sheesha lounge, and because it would be no fun without my friends. So Suz and I sat up all night drinking wine and smoking the hookah, she brought delicious apple flavored tobacco and told me her great Morocco stories, you gotta hear these!
Saturday involved floating in the river, and eating delicious food at the Frog? Bull Frog? something like that.
Saturday night was awesome! We saw Ani DiFranco, it was a great show, just her and a bass player, (not the bass guitar, but the real bass, Suz and I were trying to figure out if the bass player was Ani's husband or not). The show was great, apparently Ani won't be playing for a while due to medical problems, so thats sad. A really cute girls by the name of Erin McSomebody opened for her, highly enjoyable too. What are the chances of Ani playing in Williamsport, if thats not serendipity I don't know what is!
Then we hung out with Suz's co-workers from the triangle, they were a very interesting bunch! then on to Denny's for a midnight snack (more likea huge midnight meal) ofcourse we were paranoid and convinced that the waitresses and cops at Denny's were on to us. We really meant to go out drinking at the gay bar on Saturday night, but not being very goal-oriented folks, we were distracted by substance abuse and Denny's food.
Sunday consisted of a delicious Thai meal, it was really really good! then more floating in the river (very similar to our floating in Wakulla days, laying in the sun and shooting the shit) I left Williamsport pretty late after a huge Italian meal at the Triangle (really good too), and got home around 2:30 AM. Renneho saved my life by talking to me on the phone for hours (thanks Renee), after weekend o' bliss with Suz-Bob, and talking to Renee who I hadn't talked to in a while (hearing all the great Tallahassee gossip) I was in such a good mood that I wasn't even sleepy! I even woke up feeling refreshed this morning after only 4 hours of sleep (thats what weekend of serendipity will do for you)
But wait, there more! When I get home I have an awesome present from Renneho, that came in the mail. Its a Church of the Revolution T-Shirt! We now have official merchandise! Think of the royalties. It's a really beautiful T-Shirt, angry fist and all. I'm definitely going to wear it the first day of school, with the kick-ass feminist bag Jen-Bob made me for my birthday (thanks guys, nothing makes you feel so loved as getting an incredibly appropriate present, and if its hand made or imported from Morocco, then it gets out of control how loved you feel).
So yeah, I had an awesome couple of days. I totally needed it!
