Hitting big WS numbers: Understanding Damage Equation

That's especially true for SAM. If you see a really big number on a ws screenshot you can ask them if they sort of cheated and had a bard cast 2 STR songs on them or even more 2 soul voice STR songs.

Aside for screenshots though even as sam you'll still have to worry about the always very comical "playerx uses Tachi: Gekko/etc, but misses." so can't quite wear only STR+ and take out all your acc.

Also for other jobs, especially monk (ws like asuran fists just have 10% modifiers), when your asuran fist is already doing 1k+ the difference that something like 10 extra of a stat can make is almost not worth the effort.

The biggest factor in getting a really high screenshot in that situation seems to be lucky critical hits on those multi-hit ws (plus lucky double-attacks on things like dragon kick or raging fist), so even though DEX and crit+ on things like byakko's haidates, brutal earring or destroyers are not part of those formulas (asuran is str and vit), they still help you a lot in getting bigger numbers.
