I get that here, in this place, in cyberspace, we're smart people with opinions who want to be heard - and want to be heard in the ways we each deem appropriate; however, given we all have different histories and different levels of tolerance for online behaviors, we simply won't always agree on the marker for appropriate.
I'm a pretty mellow gal with a couple of buttons - and one of them is being dictated to. As long as you don't tell me how to conduct myself within my LJ, we'll get along just fine. More specifically, if you can't respect my judgment when it comes to this space, you really shouldn't be here. The other button? Entitlement. Just so you know.
I'm as old school as it gets when it comes to character and plot. Meaning? I want both to make sense from a story telling point-of-view. If you as a cultural producer expect me as a viewer to extrapolate, I'm not interested. Using subtext as a playground is one thing; asking me to provide or manufacture text (aka filling in obvious and unnecessary textual gaps) is not my cuppa.
ETA:
I don't like bullies. Never have. Never will. Never rolled over because of them. NEVER will.
If you email me after you've said your bit and I've said mine, don't expect me to read yet another email from you. My patience does not extend that far.
I don't friend blank journals. Once upon a time, yes. Now? Not so much.
(I'm not really a hardass. I just like playing one in cyberspace. Wait, that's not entirely true. I'm pretty much a hardass - but one with a sense of humor, so things balance out. *g*)
