Ahahahaha... I was one of the ones who kind of tl;dred on the whole holiday promotion thing. XD;; I don't quite have the same level of rage over it as some do (at least, expressed in news and paidmembers), but... yeah... the implementation comes across as tacky, IMHO, and could have been done much better if they wanted to change it.

I think the last time he leaned over it was during something like the winter garden scene from GS3 or similar, and when he asked for an explanation I may have tried to start one, given up, and just said "emo lawyers". He's not a gamer, at all, so he's never played the games.
And yeah, the holiday promotion stinks -- it's so limited as to be almost useless, and they're acting like it's awesome; if they'd said "we just can't afford the old promotion, so we're not doing it, all we can offer is this", it would have felt a lot less annoying. Oh well. But I figured I'd offer, since I have 49 codes, and some subset of damnedfolk might have a January apps response by the time the coupons run out.
Oh dear... that scene. XDDDDDDD Okay, yeah, that would entirely clinch the whole series for anyone. X3 *Cough* Also... sort of related: FoC has a "Hot or not?" meme going on right now, and though it's towards the end stage already... if you wanted to make Lana's debut there, vK might come by and give her a fairly positive score, since (at least in my head canon) she's one of the few people around whom he finds worthy enough of his regard.
Well, TPTB at LJ seem to be doing that for a lot of the other unsavory changes they've done. The whole "We don't give a shit about your guys' Friends pages; we're going to go ahead and post these useless news updates non-cut, so there!" attitude kind of, sort of... ticked me off enough that I emailed feedback@lj about it. As a former Support volunteer (because I wasn't able to keep up the brain and activity levels to do it, not because of any political reasons, mind you), I'm really not happy with the trend that LiveJournal has been taking over the past couple of years

I'm finding it hard to get to my actual tags -- I keep overestimating my ability to yank time away from family stuff, so I'm sitting out this round of FoC. (Also I'm kind of unsure on what her sexual orientation would actually be, which might not affect her actual answers since she would :| at the whole thing, but still.)

And I was thinking they opened Jan 1, oops. At least that gives me longer to finish my app. XD
I am also missing the snowstorm in Boston, but I am happyface about this. Snow is all well and good, but if I was in Boston I'd have to be walking around in it, which is not fun at all for me. We got a couple of inches here in Indiana and that's good enough for me.
I haven't played the first game in a long long time. Glad you're enjoying it.
I like to cross-country ski, and I live within walking distance of the Middlesex Fells, which is why I'm bummed about missing the snow -- we've got a dusting here in Cleveland, which is enough to make it festive, but not a hassle.
