Ages ago wariena gave me five questions. Now I'm finally answering them.

...inability to refrain from unwanted invasion of personal space, probably. Both physically and people who try to talk to you on the bus when you have headphones in...

Oh god, THIS. Of course, you probably already know that from my myriad of bus-related rants on my journal, but sometimes, the gall of complete strangers amazes me to no end. =/

And I was kind of the same way in HS (right down to the feeling more comfortable around adults), except that, just as in the present, I don't tend to smile a lot; I've always had a more saturnine demeanor -- and always worried about anything and everything. XD; (Big surprise there, I'm sure.)

I think I owe someone (Kaze, maybe?) answers already, but you can go ahead and ask away if you have any questions for me: >:[ (I've been using that one a lot, so... XD )

Yeah, that's the only habit I really find difficult to ignore; I'm pretty laid-back about things that don't affect me.

I am terrible at coming up with questions, but sure! Don't feel you have to if you get too behind; I won't be offended.

1. What kind of music do you like?

2. If you could live anywhere in the world, would you stay where you are, or go somewhere else?

3. Favorite book?

4. What do you like MOST about public transit? Anything? XD

5. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? How did that shape what you ended up doing, if at all?

nability to refrain from unwanted invasion of personal space, probably. Both physically and people who try to talk to you on the bus when you have headphones in; I am not a hugely extroverted person.

YES. If I wanted to talk to people, I wouldn't be listening to an iPod/reading a book/writing smut on a computer. I want a T-shirt that says "Fuck off, am listening to music" or "Earbuds mean I don't want to listen to you." And for some reason, up until last year, I seem to attract public transport weirdos who seem to think me on a tram/train/bus means I am there to be touched/talked to/harrassed.

Also, this:

My favorite game is the first one -- it has several of my absolute favorite cases, and it's the one I replay the most. (Aside from partial replays for canon review purposes of 4-4, of which I've practically memorized some sections.)

is totally my take on the series too. :) Am replaying 4-4 right now for fic-writing purposes.

At least Boston is famous for people mostly being cold and distant on the subway/sidewalk/whatever. There aren't as many people who try. I go back to my parents' house in Ohio to visit and store clerks try to make conversation and I just boggle.

I do get more than my fair share of them just because if someone makes eye contact, I tend to reflexively smile, which looks like an opening. Oh well.

I have to admit, the bury your gays vibe from TW is what put me off it- and the whole 'why should I spend seasons caring about these people if you're just going to kill them all for no good reason' thing. But arghhh, thirding invasion of private space. I've been known to hit people who get too close/ randomly touch me, though that's mainly because I have a horrible temper- one school report I had labelled be as being an "exceptionally private girl". XD It's just arghh, why would you do that to a total stranger?

Yeah, I am not a huge fan of the "make people care and then kill them while you can". In things like Monster (which I am almost done with as I got distracted by being sick and then SMT: Strange Journey) it's necessary, even if it makes me sad. But in Torchwood it was like LOL LETS BE EDGY AND KILL THE MAIN CHARS. Sigh. Also, RTD seeming to think that being gay himself gives him a free pass out of any problems with the narrative.

And we might get a Ianto at Damned which is awesome.

I'm a fairly cuddly/touchy-feely person with people I know well, but strangers are strange. I've learned to not mind crowded buses/subways where there's no choice and everyone's trying to be polite about it and ignore that we're all smashed together. It's the deliberate ones that I am like ... at.
