LIMITED CONNECTIVITY

ARGHHHHHHH I hate hate hate Time Warner. Since we had digital phone installed on 21 Feb, we have had ongoing issues of no phone, no Internet, no "on demand" for the tv...and when I call the motherfuckers, they put me on hold, pretending to be connecting me with a supervisor and they are really just sitting back and laughing at me. So I'm taking ( Read more... )

I don't know what companies are in your area, but I am using Comcast DSL with Vonage internet phone. I think nobody beats Vonage. This is all they do, and they are specialists. They're not trying to sell you anything else.

I'd just get my internet from somebody, hold them responsible for it, and get the other services from companies who are better at it.

Ok, so I guess we need to get our Internet provider thingy set up first, since Vonage the will work through the cable modem, which is off and on.

Arghhhhh.

We don't have Comcast here, but we can get AT&T or check out WOW.

This was supposed to SIMPLIFY our lives.

I'm not going to check out wow. I have no idea who they are, and trying to determine how good someone is from their own website is like getting a testimonial from their mother.

LOL! NO, I know some people at work who have them and I'll ask around. I am sort of leaning to AT&T though.

Ugh. I have a headache. But I DO have Internet. For the moment! I feel like I'm back when I had my first pc and my dialup connection was spotty. I would be in a chat with Dave Barry people and then I'd be gone. Then I'd get back in, and then I'd be offline again.

That doesn't even bother me so much as the phone going out--I'm not used to my phone not working--ever--even during a power outage, you still have phone service--that is, as long as you still have an old-fashioned land line unit it the house, which we do. We have our cells, but that's not the point! And I know my husband will never go for not having a house phone--even though he has sort of gotten used to carrying that pay-as-you-go phone lately.

Can't tell you anything about the services you've listed above -- we use Comcast, and it's been pretty good.

I do have to tell you though that there's definitely something screwy with your connection. I checked G-mail chat, and you've got an orange dot beside your name in my buddy list with an explanation of "bad internet connection."

Guess that says it all, really. ;)

harrrr! NO I put that up there as a custom message, so if it looked like I was online and I wasn't then no one would think I was being snooty and not coming back to them. LOL!

It does look official though, doesn't it? hee hee

Actually (and I shouldn't say this) it's been fairly steady all day, my Internet connection, I mean.
