It seems pretty common for parents to say they love all their children equally. I feel that this must come up in everyone's childhood at some point. Well, it's made up. Lately I have heard so many people talk about "their favorite" child. I guess it this is obvious, but I was sort of shocked to realize that parents really do have favorite

i was just having a similar conversation with somebody. they said, "i love them all the same, but i like some more than others".

i think it makes sense.

lucky for me, i don't have any competition (for my mom anyway)

I'm convinced that my parent's like my brother better, because they had to do less work with him. He's 8 years younger, much lazier and they are older and lazier. So I'm convinced he's more fun, but they brag about me more. So I spin it in my head because we both serve a purpose in their lives!

I think it balances out if there are 2 children and 2 parents (biological or otherwise), because then each kid can be a favorite of one parent. In my hypothesis though, the younger is always the favorite because they were the last one to leave home. Unless they didn't leave home, then I dunno...
